Dr Shalev is internationally recognized for his studies of posttraumatic stress disorder and other trauma related psychiatric disorders. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Head of the Department of Psychiatry of the Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem Israel. In addition he is Director and founder, Center for Traumatic Stress Dr Shalev is Editor and Co- Founder of the Israel Journal of Psychotherapy (“Sihot”- “Dialogue”). Dr Shalev received his medical education at the Faculté de Medecine, Montpellier, France. He served as Chief Psychiatrist for the Israel Defense Forces, Medical Corps. He has received the Robert S. Laufer Memorial Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement in the Field of PTSD of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the Meritorious Service Award, Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences.
