Shelby Farrish is a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress and has been with the organization since March 2009. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice / Criminology from Florida State University in May 2008. While at FSU she completed a Forensic Issues Internship from 2006-2007 in which she performed forensic assessment, studied criminal cases, and conducted research on competency and insanity issues.
Her collegiate involvement includes membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key International, and Psi Chi. She is currently enrolled in graduate school at Marymount University and will obtain a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology in May 2010. Some of her professional interests include criminal investigations, false confessions, risk assessment, treatment effectiveness, criminal responsibility, profiling offenders, and psychological disorders.
