Harold Kudler, M.D., is Associate Director, Veterans Affairs, VISN 6 Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center on Deployment Mental Health and Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Duke University Medical Center.

In Part 1 of his podcast, Dr. Kudler describes an overview of Veterans Affair services and the psychological challenges that Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans and their families face. He proposes a public health model which encourages partnering with states and communities to enhance access and quality of services for veterans and their families.
