Brandon Rickett is a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress. He graduated from Bucknell University in May 2024 with a B.A. in Psychology and Russian Studies. At Bucknell, he worked in Dr. Haley Kragness’s LEAF Lab, where he studied children’s gender stereotyping of musical instruments. Brandon completed two undergraduate honors theses, one on the effects of pitch and loudness on children’s instrument stereotyping and another on the portrayal of self-destruction in Russian literature. He also formerly worked as an RA studying immigrant work-life balance at Adler University, and children’s perceptions of fairness at Yale University.
As an ROTC Cadet, Brandon had the opportunity to live in Kyrgyzstan for an extended period of time and work with Dr. Robert Hamilton at the US Army War College on a book chapter exploring Russian and Chinese influence in Central Asia. Brandon has strong passions for both psychology and cultural studies and plans to eventually pursue a PhD in clinical psychology and work with culturally diverse populations.
