Luke is a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). He graduated in May 2023 from the University of Maryland Honors College with a B.S. in Neuroscience. At UMD, he worked as a research assistant in Dr. Joseph Dien’s electroencephalography lab contributing to vital research on Alzheimer’s Disease. Additionally, he was active in the organization CORA (Combatting Overdoses in Rural Areas) that empowers communities to fight the opioid epidemic through harm reduction training, information dissemination, and Naloxone distribution. At CSTS, he is learning about the effects of trauma and disaster on military populations to develop solutions that prioritize resiliency and recovery. Luke is passionate about improving the well-being of others through research and aims to obtain a Master’s degree in Neuroscience to develop his passion.
