Miahjé Williams is a Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). She graduated from Howard University in December 2021 with a B.S. in Health Science and a minor in Chemistry. While at Howard, Miahjé was selected as a Johns Hopkins/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Pediatric Center of Excellence in Nephrology (JHU/CHOP PCEN) Research Scholar. As a research scholar Miahjé was provided with the opportunity to conduct clinical research under the mentorship of a PCEN investigator. Her research focused on examining the clinical characteristics of children with CKD secondary to FSGS with varying neighborhood and individual socioeconomic factors. At the end of her research experience, Miahjé reported her research findings in a scientific abstract and poster which she presented at the 2022 Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting. After graduating, Miahjé worked as a Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins Department of Pediatric Nephrology where she acted as study coordinator for various research projects and a clinical drug trial. At CSTS, Miahjé hopes to further develop her research skills and explore other interests in psychiatry and neuroscience. Ultimately, she plans to pursue a career as a physician in a joint MD/MBA program.
