Mona is a Clinical Research Assistant at the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). She completed her B.S. in Psychology with Latin honors at James Madison University. Mona obtained her M.S. in Experimental Psychology at William & Mary (W&M) in May 2024. While at W&M, she worked as a graduate research assistant in the Stress & Emotion Lab where she studied inflammatory and executive control responses under stress. Her master's thesis was titled "Regulating Under Social Stress: Coping, Cortisol, and Cytokine Reactivity". Mona's main research interests are in psychoneuroimmunology, emotion regulation, stress-related depression, and mixed methods to assess acute stress. She hopes to obtain a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. in the future
