Sam is the DARPA Research Assistant for the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress (CSTS). He graduated from American University in May 2023 with a BA in Psychology and Justice, Law, and Criminology with a focus in Terrorism and Security Studies. While at AU, Sam participated in research at the AU Psychopharmacology Laboratory under Dr. Anthony Riley. Here he studied poly-drug use and novel synthetic cathinones. While at AU, Sam gained an interest in research and hopes to further his interest and passion for psychology at CSTS. Sam hopes to continue his education with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a research focus in gender socialization, psychopathology, and neural imaging.
