Derrick Hamaoka, MD

Dr. Derrick Hamaoka graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine in 1999 and the University of Texas Health Science Center Psychiatry Residency Program in 2003. He currently serves as the interim Associate Dean for Regional Education and the San Antonio Military Medical Center, Senior Psychiatry Site Director for the Uniformed Services University. Prior to these assignments, he served 22 years as an Air Force psychiatrist and performed in several academic leadership roles, including the Associate Program Director, University of Texas Health San Antonio Psychiatry Residency Program and the Defense Institute for Medical Operations director and subject matter expert for the Mental Health Services After Disasters & Combat course.
