Ms. Reba Rice-Portwood is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Program Manager (Suicide Prevention and Intervention Specialist at the Safer Homes Collaboration for the Missouri Institute of Mental Health at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is the founder of At L.A.S.T. LLC, (Lend A Shoulder Today), a safe place for counseling and community education and a place to support grieving mothers. She has worked on several high-profile projects with the Brady Foundation, the Ad Council, and a project with NPR (National Public Radio). She has been featured in St. Louis print and digital media, an article in VoyageSTL Magazine, and speaks publicly on wellness, and suicide awareness and prevention.
A long-standing member of the St. Louis community, Ms. Rice-Portwood is a poet and published author of a children’s affirmation book, ‘Amazing Beautiful Child’ which reflects her passion for supporting and encouraging our youth. In her spare time, she spends quality time with her grandson and loves reading and writing poetry.
